Student Interface

Academ-e was designed by academicians specifically to enhance the online learning experience. While there are many content presentation programs available today, none of them incorporates the powerful learning tools of Academ-e.

More importantly, students can pay upfront or as-they-go in a secured online environment facilitating administration and eliminating collection headaches

Student Login

  • The student's username and password are the key to access their courses. Upon login, they are presented with a list of the courses they are registered to take.
  • After selecting the course they want to study, they are presented with a course outline.
  • The course outline is hyperlinked to the page for everything completed to that point.
  • When the student selects "Begin Coursework" they are taken to the point in the course the previous session ended on.

The Interface Features

Course Navigation

Each course has an automatic navigation system based on the actual number of units, modules, lessons, and pages in that course.

The navigation changes colors as they proceed through the course to tell them where they are, where they have been and how far they have to go.

The navigation blocks they have completed can be clicked to return to that page or section for review.

Course Glossary Features

Students can click any letter to view entries alphabetically in a pop-up window.

Students can click on hyperlinked glossary terms as they appear in the text section of a page.

Students may elect to turn off the glossary links in the text area with a single click of the mouse.

Course References

  • Any course external resources or reference images can be selected from the permanent navigation in the left column.
  • Course references or external resources pop-up in a new window so students don't lose their current page.

Testing

  • Tests are presented with randomly selected questions from the completed unit, module, or course.
  • After completing the multiple choice test, students are presented with any questions they answered incorrectly, the incorrect answer and the correct answer.
  • A reference link is provided that allows the student to review.
  • Students are required to pass a test at each level in order to proceed, and any makeup test consists of different questions selected at random.
  • Once completed satisfactorily, the student may proceed to the next Unit, Module or Lesson.
  • Upon completion of the course, the student may continue to login and use the course content as reference materials.
